In Christ alone our hope is found

Proclaiming the good news of God's love in Christ Jesus

Bethany Church

Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and School has been privileged to serve Kenosha and Somers area Christians with the gospel of Jesus Christ since 1917. Our congregation is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, a Lutheran church body headquartered in Milwaukee consisting of over 1,200 member congregations nationwide.

Our congregation is committed to proclaiming the entire truth of God's Word as we find it without error in the Holy Scriptures. We invite everyone to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18) through a faithful use of Word and Sacrament in worship, Bible study and personal, devotional use of the Bible.

We would consider it an honor to have visitors join our family of faith. Communicant membership in our congregation is established by transfer from another Lutheran congregation within our fellowship or upon completion of an eight-lesson Bible Information Course taught by one of our pastors.

We gather for worship, Bible study, and fellowship at two locations.

Bethany School

Bethany Lutheran School is a K-8 ministry arm of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Our dedicated staff of teachers is committed to unveiling the wonders of God's created world of language, mathematics, science, history and the arts. Everything our students learn, pursue and do is guided by the unchanging truth of God's Word.

We do not subscribe to one single curriculum, theory, publisher, or trend in education.  Rather, our curriculum incorporates a blend of many nationally recognized publishers, sound educational approaches, a variety of teaching theories, and adaptable styles of instruction. Bethany’s curriculum is balanced and comprehensive. Its design promotes cognitive growth through its objectives, activities, strategies, and resources. The well-rounded curriculum takes into account the wide range of cultural backgrounds and learning styles of the students, offering flexibility for the teacher to work with each student and their individual abilities. Bethany’s curriculum leaves graduates of Bethany fully prepared for high school, positioned to excel in higher education, and equipped for eternal life through faith in Christ Jesus.

We are excited about our school and would like to invite you to learn more about Bethany. We welcome inquiries throughout the year for our nationally accredited Kindergarten through 8th grade school. You may request information online or contact us by phone (262.654.3234). We would appreciate the opportunity to meet you and discuss how Bethany can serve your family.

September not only marks the kickoff of new football seasons, more important it marks the beginning of another year of Bible study at Bethany. Besides offering regular Bible study in connection with worship on Saturday evening at Kenosha (6:45 P.M.) and on Sunday morning at the Kenosha (9:30 A.M.) and Somers (10:30 A.M.) campuses, Bethany is offering a myriad of study opportunities througout the week.
  • A Wednesday morning study (10:30 A.M. at Somers) of the Gospel, lessons, and hymns for the next weekend's worship.
  • A weekly evening small group study at the home of Bethany members
  • Monthly evening seminars that will take place both at the Somers and Kenosha campuses
  • A bi-weekly Men's Bible study (7:00 A.M. at the Kenosha Panera Bread)
  • A monthly breakfast Bible study on the last Wednesday of every month (8:15 A.M. at the Kenosha Perkins)
For more information on all these Bible studies, click here or find the Study God's Word link in the top menu
